On the Oak its been exceptionally weedy and duckweedy but some of that material is moving out now. The bite was not hot and heavy but we picked at a few steelhead as we approached the 30 line. Fishing pressure is moderate right now and generally guys are moving around offering chances to fish different spots between the swingers and the drifters be it fly, float or spin. Any significant precipitation will quickly raise all the trib flows up again with the chance for off color flows. Proceeding upstream thru the Oak downstream frog water areas the reports are quieter but I suspect guys are into a decent skein bite. The weather is a changing again according to the near term forecast, with above freezing temps expected day and night starting about Wed/ Thu and lasting at least thru the begin part of next week. Anglers often find flows still a bit high and a bit stained and for sure cold but thats the nature of steelheading and the chance for a multiple hook up day. Good chances for fresh fish action ahead for this beginning part of March especially as higher and more stained flows may come and go.
